Naomi Wolf Sleeps with the Patriarchs
By James Lewis and Justine Aristea, 16-3-2013
In the past few weeks, militant jihadism has won two major propaganda coups.
First, Al Gore, the world’s most famous critic of dirty oil, sold his “progressive network” Current Media, LLC, to the oil sheikhs of Qatar for a reported $500 million.
Second, Naomi Wolf, renowned author of Vagina: A New Biography and other top feminist works, sold her soul to the same Islamist patriarchy.
Feminists have been screaming themselves silly about America’s “patriarchy” for decades, while American men gave them everything they desired, including abortion on demand, any imaginable use of their genitalia, and most of all, the free speech right to peddle any degree of anti-Western nonsense. … As for the “constitutional freedoms” in Qatar, these come straight from the Holy Koran…
Naomi gets what she wants, which is much more than thirty pieces of silver. The exact amount hasn’t been publicized, because that would be in bad taste.
As for half-billion Muslim women who have just been pushed back into the 7th century by the “Arab Spring,” they get exactly nothing. They are once again jailed in their homes, forbidden to walk outside without a male relative. … That’s a real patriarchy.
Like Al Gore, Naomi plays a mass media sucker game. She has simply turned her declining brand into a fat contract from those oil sheikhs. A couple of trillion dollars come out of those oil fields every week. That kind of money buys a lot of demagogues.
An Inconvenient Truth

Gore’s decision to sell the network, alone, raises questions concerning the sincerity of his self-proclaimed ideologies. Especially when considering to whom he sold the company, Gore’s moral servitude can be questioned as well.
Al Jazeera, which was launched in 1996, is headquartered in Doha, Qatar and is funded by the Qatari government — more specifically, the Emir of Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani. …
As described by the U.S. State Department, Qatar’s “customs, laws and practices” are founded by “Islamic beliefs and tribal traditions,” also known as Sharia Law. Of which, is a religious practice that is widely contested and seen as void of human rights, especially women’s rights.
Qatar is also extremely homophobic, and the U.S. State Department has outlined the severity of the situation, stating that “homosexual activity is considered to be a criminal offense, and those convicted may be sentenced to lashings, a prison sentence, and/or deportation.” Views that seem to heavily contradict the video that Gore released a few years back, which addressed and supported gay rights.

Possibly the most surprising part of the whole ordeal, however, is the fact that Qatar is one of the world’s largest exporters of oil, and is the largest exporter of liquefied natural gas. And anyone who has heard Al Gore’s name outside of this article knows that he’s a staunch defender of the environment and finds oil repulsive at best. The sale of Current TV to Al Jazeera is an inconvenient truth indeed.
Al Gore defends TV sale to Qatar’s Al Jazeera
By Andy Sambidge, 2 February 2013
Al Gore has defended his decision to sell cable television network Current TV to Qatar’s Al Jazeera during an interview with chat-show host David Letterman. Gore said the time was right to sell the network, adding that Al Jazeera was a “highly respected” company which would produce “high quality stuff” on Al Jazeera America.
“They’re very widely respected, and people see for themselves. And, by the way, their climate coverage is higher quality and more extensive than any network on TV now in the US,” Gore said when questioned about the Qatari network’s pedigree.

Aides to former Democratic Vice President Al Gore have failed to respond to a recent Al-Jazeera TV broadcast, in which a top imam affirmed the death penalty for anyone who quits Islam. Gore reportedly sold Current TV for $500 million and endorsed Al-Jazeera’s news programs.
Western critics of Islam highlighted a recent broadcast of the network’s regular “Shariah and Life” show, which has an estimated audience of 60 million viewers worldwide. The show’s host is Yusuf al-Qaradawi, a prominent Sunni Islamic cleric.
He declared that Islam’s mandated death-penalty for apostasy has kept Islam alive since the 1400s. “If they had gotten rid of the apostasy punishment Islam wouldn’t exist today,” Qaradawi said on the show.
