According to the latest monthly Peace Index, published Tuesday by the Israel Democracy Institute and Tel Aviv University, 70% of Israelis prefer a right-wing government. Only 24 percent of the country prefers a left-wing or center-left government.
Fully 81 percent of Jews said they think a right-wing or center-right government is likely to be elected, compared to just 8 percent who said they see a left-wing or center-left government coming to power. Among Arab Israelis, 58 percent said they want a left-wing government, but only 10 percent predicted this would happen if elections were held in the near future. A series of polls in recent months have shown Yair Lapid, the head of the centrist Yesh Atid party, challenging Netanyahu for the premiership in snap elections.

In a 24-6 vote, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization gave preliminary approval to a resolution that denies Jewish ties to the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu slammed the vote stating: “The theater of the absurd continues at the UN.” “Today UNESCO adopted its second decision this year denying the Jewish people’s connection to the Temple Mount, our holiest site for more than 3,000 years,” he said. Lees verder →
The Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem is fuming over a draft decision distributed on Thursday by representatives of the European Union at meetings of UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee in Istanbul on the subject of the Israeli capital’s Old City that completely ignores the Jewish connection to the site.
The proposal is an alternative to the Jordanian-Palestinian one announced earlier this week. The Europeans distributed a document that allegedly partially softens this draft but still completely accepts the Palestinian narrative that the site that includes the Al-Aqsa Mosque is a site holy to Muslims alone. Last week, communication and strategy consultant Roni Rimon attended a conference focused on fighting BDS, which was organized by Israeli ambassador to the UN Danny Danon. While there, he guided groups of students in how to oppose the phenomenon.
“We need to actively go after members of BDS,” he told Arutz Sheva, adding: “We need to fight against them and any group, university or company that boycotts Israel.
